The Goat on the Roof
A baby goat is on the farm. He sees a beautiful bird. The baby goat follows the bird into the field. But the bird is too fast. The baby goat cannot see the bird. The bird is gone. The baby goat wants to go back to the farm. But he cannot see the farm. It’s too far away. He says, “Where is the farm? How can I go home?” Then the baby goat sees the farm boy. The farm boy is the person who takes care of the goats. The farm boy picks up the baby goat. He goes back to the farm. But the farm boy takes the baby goat to a new place. The farm boy puts the goat on the roof. The farm boy says, “Baby goat, I put you on the roof because the roof is safe. I will come back in the afternoon. Then I will take you down from the roof.” The baby goat likes the roof. He is up high in the air. He can see faraway places. He can see the farm. Then he sees his brother. His brother is down on the ground. He says, “Brother, look at me! I am on the roof.” The brother goat sees the baby goat on the roof. The baby goat says, “Brother goat, I am tall! You are short. I can see the farm. You cannot see the farm.” The brother goat is sad. He wants to go on the roof. He wants to see the farm. But he cannot go onto the roof. He says, “Someday I will go onto the roof. But not today.” He walks away. He goes into the field. He sees delicious plants to eat in the field. He cannot go onto the roof. He cannot be up in the sky. But he is happy in the field.
The brother goat wants to go onto the roof like the baby goat. He feels sad. He cannot go onto the roof. But he can change his feelings. He walks away, and he feels happy again. The end.
