The Fox and the Grapes
A fox is in the forest. He is hungry. Yesterday he didn’t eat any dinner. Today he didn’t eat any breakfast. It’s afternoon. The sun is high in the sky. He wants to eat. Then the fox sees a tree with grapes. He says, “The grapes look like they taste so good! I will eat them.” The fox wants the grapes. But the fox is down on the ground. The grapes are up high in the tree. The fox tries to go up into the tree. He jumps up. But he cannot jump up into the tree. Then he says, “The grapes look like they taste so bad. I don’t want to eat them.” The fox walks away. But the fox is hungry. The fox sees a rock. He says, “I will try one more time.” The rock is a big rock. But the fox can still push it. The fox pushes the rock to the tree. The fox steps onto the rock. He jumps up. He jumps from the rock to the tree. But he cannot jump up into the tree. The fox says, “I do not want the grapes! I will eat something else.” He walks away. But he is still hungry. The fox says, “I will try one more time.” The fox goes back to the tree. He picks up the rock. He throws the rock at the grapes. The grapes fall down. The grapes fall into the fox’s mouth. The fox eats all of the grapes. And he is happy. The end.
The fox tries to get the grapes. The first time he cannot get the grapes. But it’s ok. He just needs to try again. If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, again.
