Goldilocks and the Three Bears
Three bears live in the forest. One is a small bear, one is a big bear, and one is a giant bear. These are unusual bears. They live in a house. Each bear has a bowl to eat oatmeal, and a chair to sit in, and a bed to sleep in. One day, they make oatmeal. They leave the oatmeal to cool and go outside for a walk in the forest.
While the bears are away, a girl called Goldilocks walks by their house. She looks inside the house. No one is home. She sees the bowls of oatmeal and suddenly feels very hungry. She tries some oatmeal from the giant bowl. It is too hot. She tries oatmeal from the big bowl. It is too cold. Finally, she tries oatmeal from the small bowl. It is just right, so she eats it all.
She feels tired from her walk. So, she sits down on the giant chair. But it is too hard. So, she sits on the big chair. It is too soft. She sits on the small chair. It is just right. But then the chair breaks, and the girl falls to the ground. She wants to rest, but the chair is broken. So, she looks into the bedroom. She tries to lie down on the giant bed, but it is too high. She tries the big bed, but it is still too high. Finally, she tries the small bed. It is just right. And she falls asleep.
Then the bears come home. They are hungry. The giant bear goes to his oatmeal bowl, and he sees a spoon sticking out of it. He says, “Somebody ate my oatmeal!” The big bear looks in her oatmeal and says, “someone ate my oatmeal too!” Then the little bear looks at his oatmeal, and it is all gone! He says, “Someone ate all of my oatmeal!” Now the bears start looking around the house. The giant bear notices his chair is in a different place. The giant bear says, “someone moved my chair!” The big bear notices her chair is in a different place. “Someone moved my chair!” The little bear says, “someone moved my chair, and they broke the chair!”
Now the bears are worried someone broke other things in their house. They go to the bedroom and the giant bear notices the blanket is on the floor. He says, “Someone was in my bed!” The big bear notices her pillow is on the end of the bed. She says, “Someone was in my bed!” Then the little bear hurries to his bed and says, “someone was in my bed, and she is still there!”
The little girl hears the little bear’s high voice. She sees three angry bears. Luckily, there is a window next to the bed. She quickly moves from the bed to the window. She jumps out of the window to run away from the angry bears. The end.
In this story, Goldilocks has a lot of fun trying out new things. But she also breaks some things. And the bears aren’t happy about it. Next time, she can be more careful when she visits someone’s house.
