The Friends and the Ocean

Two friends walk on the beach. It is a beautiful day. The sun is bright. They see something far away. One friend says, “Look! I see something on the ocean.” The other friend says, “I see it too! What is it?” The friends talk about what it could be. “It’s a big boat!” “What kind of boat is it?” “It’s a treasure boat!” “It’s a boat coming from a faraway place. The boat has treasure. A king is on the boat. He brings his treasure to us!” The friends keep talking about the treasure. “How much treasure is on the boat?” “Five boxes of treasure!” “No, ten boxes of treasure!” “What kind of treasure?” “Boxes of gold!” “And boxes of diamonds!” The boat is coming closer. The friends watch the boat. Then they see a fisherman on the boat. They see the fisherman throw a net into the water. The friends laugh. They say, “This boat is not a treasure boat – It is a fishing boat!” One friend says, “The treasure is fish!” The friends laugh together. The friends keep walking. Then they see something on the ocean. One friend says, “Look! It’s a box of treasure!” The other friend says, “Yes, it’s a box of gold and diamonds!” The waves push it to the beach. The friends run to see it. They say, “Oh no! It is a tree branch!” The friends laugh. They do not have treasure. But they have fun together. The end.
