The Leopard and the Fox
One day a leopard walks in the forest. He sees a fox. The fox is his friend. He says, “Hello, my fox friend! I haven’t seen you in a long time.” The fox says, “That’s right. The last time I saw you was one year ago.” The leopard says, “Let’s catch up. How about dinner?” The fox says, “Great, I’d be happy to get dinner with you.” The leopard and the fox have dinner together. They have a big dinner, so they feel very full. The leopard and the fox tell jokes and laugh together. Then the leopard says, “Fox, your fur is so plain. Your fur is only one color. It is brown. You don’t have spots on your fur. I have spots on my fur. So, my fur has many colors.” The fox wants to say something. Yes, his fur is brown. But his fur also has white because he has white fur on his tail. The fox wants to tell the leopard about his white fur. But he does not. The fox says, “Your fur has many colors. My fur has only one color. But, I have many ideas in my head. I am very smart. That is real beauty.” The end.
In this story, the leopard thinks his spots are very important. But the fox says it’s more important to have good ideas than to have beautiful spots.
